The incident happened on 19 November 2022 in Kamwaza Village, 35 km south of Katete town. According to the initial investigations by Police, the Headman protected two suspects.

When the officers were leaving the village, an uncompromising mob blocked the road with logs and began throwing rocks and sticks at them, resulting in the severe injury of nine officers.

In addition, a Police car was also set on Fire. According to Mr. Mwale, Police officers were armed at the time of the incident. However, they refrained from using weapons on the locals.
