Kishore K Swamy’s arrest news has been a hot topic all over the internet, as the Indian commentator who targeted CM Stalin for the Chennai rain situation. 

Famous self-declared political analyst Kishore K. Swamy has long harassed and targeted female journalists.

He was a well-known supporter of both the BJP and the AIADMK. Additionally, he was detained for defaming current DMK political leaders on social media. 

The city police detained him after the DMK IT Wing filed a charge against him for disseminating abusive and disparaging material on the current and former chief minister.

Police detained him on suspicion of violating Sections 153, 505(1) (b), and 505(1). (c). He was held in judicial prison on remand until June 28. In 2020.

Additionally, he was detained for violating articles 354D and 509 of the law by harassing female journalists on social media.

In the early hours of Monday, November 21, 2022, Kishore K. Swamy, a well-known political commentator known for his anti-DMK stance, was taken into custody.

According to a Zee News report, Kishore was detained because of remarks he made in response to the monsoon preparations criticizing MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu.

According to the report, the Chennai Police’s Cyber Crime squad had filed a complaint and summoned Kishore.

It stated that he failed to show up despite receiving many notices on November 5, 7, 9, and 14. According to reports, Kishore asked the Chennai Principal Sessions Court for anticipatory bail since he feared being arrested.

The judge denied Kishore’s request for anticipatory bail, who reasoned that it would be unfair to provide bail to someone who had been served with a summons but had not yet shown up in court.

Kishore’s side had claimed that his Twitter posts had been about his ‘buddy’ and no one else when the plea was up for hearing.

Kishore is a “habitual offender,” according to the public prosecutor, and there are seven charges filed against him.

According to a few other accounts, he was detained because of his social media posts concerning the most recent bombing in Coimbatore.

On November 19, 2022, Kishore said that a “Journalist gang” led by Shabbir Ahmed of The News Minute was attempting to get him jailed.

Since the DMK took office, Kishore K. Swamy has been detained twice, the most recent being on this occasion.

Previously, on June 14, 2021, Kishore K. Swamy was detained for allegedly “defaming” DMK leaders MK Stalin, Karunanidhi, and Annadurai.

Based on a complaint from a DMK official in Kanchipuram, the arrest was made.

In a recent tweet, Kishore K. Swamy cited passages from a Tamil poet, Bharathidasan, who wrote about Annadurai and said that the latter took his niece to a rich man’s House to work for money.

Several posts by Kishore K. Swamy also criticized MK Stalin and his Father, M. Karunanidhi.

He was imprisoned and charged with the Goondas Act for the “heinous” crime of criticizing DMK leaders, and he has been there for about six months.

However, the Madras High Court overturned the Goondas Act against Kishore in December 2021, which led to his release from custody.

Stalin Government Arrests More DMK Critics

On September 21, 2022, Krishna Kumar Murugan, a political researcher well-known for tweeting data points opposing the DMK, was detained in connection with alleged “defamatory” posters that mocked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.

The Tamil Nadu authorities detained Karthik Gopinath, a well-known Tamil YouTuber who manages the Ilaya Bharatham YouTube channel, in May 2022 for the matter of seeking money for a Siruvachur temple that had been vandalized.

BJP Tamil Nadu member Kalyanaraman was detained for reportedly disparaging MK Stalin and his late father, Karunanidhi. In a tweet, Kalyanaraman tweeted a photo of a book page discussing V.

Anaimuthu’s remarks about EVR’s wife, Maniammai, in which Anaimuthu clarifies the connection between Maniammai and K. Veeramani, the present Leader of the Dravidar Kazhagam. The Goondas Act was also applied to Kalyanaraman.

On December 9, 2021, popular YouTuber Maridhas was detained for a tweet she had posted in response to the passing of former Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat. This arrest was also made due to a complaint from a DMK official.

Saravana Kumar, a Dindigul resident and office bearer for the BJP IT wing, was detained for reportedly criticizing the DMK administration.

On October 15, 2021, Dakshinamurthy alias Seethaiyin Manthan, a YouTuber and Tamil nationalist thinker, was detained for releasing a documentary that revealed little-known and concealed truths concerning E.V. Ramasamy Naicker, also known by his supporters as “Periyar.”

The editors of the Tamil magazine Vikatan, Maridhas, and political analyst “Savukku” Shankar had all received FIRs from the Tamil Nadu Police for their comments against G Square, a real estate Company with apparent ties to the DMK family.
