Adam Goodes Early Life And Career

Adam started playing Australian rules football at his school. At the age of 16, he joined the under-18 club North Ballarat.

After two years, Adam was drafted by the Sydney Swans of the Australian Football League. In 1999 at 19, Adam made his debut and won the season’s Rising Star Award.

During 2000 and 2001, Adam lacked consistency as he played in various positions. In 2002 Adam was on the verge of getting dropped from the team as his gameplay was degrading daily. However, his form improved later, and he played more in a ruck.

In 2003 at the end of the season, Adam won the Bob Skilton Medal and received an Australian selection for the first time.

In 2009 he was the best player throughout the season. He became the quickest player in AFL history to reach the 300th AFL game, breaking the old record of Mark Ricciuto by 274 days.

Goodes also won the league’s highest personal honor, the Brownlow Medal, alongside Collingwood’s Nathan Buckley and Adelaide’s Mark.
