In an interview, she discussed how her mandate was to attract younger drinkers to the brand and evolve it by making it more appealing to both men and women through inclusivity.

Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of Bud Light, supported the decision to partner with Mulvaney.

Moreover, Anheuser-Busch stated that they would continue to collaborate with a diverse range of influencers.

Mulvaney’s partnership was announced on her Instagram account, where she promoted the beer brand’s NCAA’s March Madness contest, resulting in a backlash.

The controversy began when Harvard graduate Alissa Heinerscheid partnered with trans-activist Dylan Mulvaney to promote Bud Light.

Heinerscheid emphasized the importance of the brand appealing to more female drinkers, saying that without them, “there will be no future for Bud Light.”

However, the collaboration received significant backlash, with Heinerscheid and Mulvaney facing a barrage of criticism from anti-trans and right-wing groups.

However, Bud Light has not posted anything on its official Twitter account for over a week.

Despite the backlash, AB InBev, the world’s largest brewer, reported over-expected profits of over 7% in the last quarter of 2023, with a core profit of $4.95 billion.

Heinerscheid, who previously worked as a marketing guru at AB InBev, claimed she had a “super clear” mandate to modernize Bud Light’s marketing strategy.

According to her, the previous marketing strategy of Bud Light was outdated and male-oriented.

Heinerscheid holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from The Wharton School, which she obtained between 2011 and 2013.

She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Harvard University, which she earned between 2002 and 2006.

Before that, Alissa Heinerscheid attended Groton School from 1998 to 2002.
