Recent news of her shows that she has been living healthy. According to recent filings, football financier Amanda Staveley received almost £1 million in consulting fees from Newcastle United for “strategic advisory services” last year.

Staveley, who played a crucial role in brokering the club’s £300 million sale to a Saudi-led consortium, joined Newcastle’s board after the controversial takeover was completed.

The latest accounts, signed off by Staveley for the year ending June 30, 2022, show that she started charging the club through her holding company Cantervale immediately after the deal was finalized.

Staveley, a former model, and ex-girlfriend of Prince Andrew, has been involved in several high-profile business deals, including selling Barclays Bank’s shares to Qatari investors.

Amanda Staveley Was Diagnosed With Huntington Disease

Staveley was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease in 2013, a progressive disorder affecting people in their later years.

The symptoms include a gradual decline in brain function, mood swings, memory loss, and involuntary body movements.

Doctors informed her that the disease was dormant but could be triggered by stress and work pressure.

Amanda learned that she had inherited the gene for Huntington’s from her mother, Lyne, a former champion show-jumper when she underwent testing before starting her own family at 37.

Staveley shared with the Mail that the onset of Huntington’s disease can be triggered by stress, which is ultimately fatal.

She also acknowledged that her condition has made things difficult for her husband, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, whom she married in 2011.

Despite her reservations, Mehrdad was supportive and committed to finding the best medical care for her.

Interestingly, Huntington’s had an unusual effect on Amanda’s cognitive abilities, improving her proficiency with numbers as a City dealmaker with Barclays Bank.

She has been doing fine; she does not seem weak after discovering Huntington’s disease.
