Congresswoman Attacked And Assaulted By Kindred Hamlin

A man has been charged following the assault reported by the politician on February 9, 2022. She mentioned she was assaulted in the elevator of her apartment building in the morning.

As per the report, Craig was in the lobby of her apartment building around 7:10 am. She was in the hall getting a coffee when she noticed a man pacing.

Craig said she did not notice the man but just said “good morning” in a nice gesture and went into the elevator.

Before the elevator closed, the same man stuck his hand and tried to enter; she thought all of them were normal.

Craig said the man wanted to use the bathroom and asked her politely if he could use her apartment, but Craig said she was uncomfortable and responded No.

But the man, Kindred Hamlin, stood in front of the elevator door, blocked her from leaving, and hit the buttons on the keypad.

Then, when she forced herself to reach the keypad, he punched her in the face, put his hand on her shoulders, and kept her from getting the elevator keypad.

Then, as per the court documents, she threw the hot coffee over his shoulder, where he released her. Craig asked for help as the doors opened, and she ran down the stairs and left the building.

She went to report the incident to the Police; she said she had physical pain and bruising on her lip from the incident at around 7:00 in the morning.

After the complaint was filed, the investigation started, and Kendrid was arrested on Thursday night from 2nd and D Streets.

They complained, and the CCTV footage from the building matched the person arrested on a Thursday night; if the guy pealed guilty, he might get sentenced to almost 5-10 years.
