The “Angry Retails Guy’s” videos have been trending all over social media. What is the hype all about?

Scott Seiss, a native of Dundalk, started working at an Ikea call center close to the Company’s White Marsh store in November 2016. 

He reviewed emails and social media posts from clients who frequently complained about late deliveries or missing parts as part of his job. 

One man, Seiss recalls, became so angry over the delay in sending him a replacement for a damaged piece of furniture, saying that he sent a video attachment of him burning the table.

The “Angry Retail Guy” sketches by comedian, Actor, and writer Scott Seiss have received millions of views on TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter. 

He was recently given a role in the upcoming Elizabeth Banks-directed “Cocaine Bear” feature film from Universal. In particular, he has opened shows for Patton Oswalt, Bo Burnham, Roy Wood Jr., and Josh Wolf and headlined comedy clubs across the nation.

Scott Seiss, a comedian, combines observational comedy about everyday situations with a lot of shouting about how men should sit down to urinate. His humor is sharp, silly, and frequently angry.

Millions of people have watched the “Angry Retail Guy” videos on Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok. The videos give what it’s like to work in retail a humorous spin. Some of his favorite comedians, including Patton Oswalt, Paul Tompkins, and Ben Stiller, have shared the wildly popular videos.

He received a lot of attention from these videos, which helped him get a part in the upcoming film “Cocaine Bear.” Elizabeth Banks invited him to try out for the movie after she saw his videos, which will be released on February 24, 2023.

Scott Seiss Left His Job To Become A Comedian

Seiss, a 27-year-old Essex native and University of Maryland Baltimore County graduate, left the region and his job at Ikea in April 2019 and moved to Bloomfield, New Jersey, to pursue a career in comedy.

Ironically, Seiss’ hilarious portrayal of a disgruntled Ikea employee might just aid at the beginning of his comedic career. Seiss imitates customers and mocks their complaints in several videos that were uploaded to TikTok and quickly spread across the internet. He is wearing an old Ikea lanyard around his neck.

To test them out on his wife, Amanda, who shared her retail experience working at White Marsh Mall, he started filming the Ikea videos in February.

The 21 Ikea employee videos created by Seiss have gained hundreds of millions of views on TikTok alone, not to mention more on Twitter and Youtube.

Celebrities like Peyton Reed, the director of “Ant-Man,” are among his newfound admirers. The videos were shared by comedian Patton Oswalt, who wrote that he couldn’t stop watching them. Lebron James, a basketball legend, shared the videos on Twitter while joking that he was visibly moved to tears.
