The young climate activist hails from Lower Bavaria. It is one of the seven administrative regions of Bavaria, Germany. The activist, also known as “Climate Shakira,” is currently a student at the University of Klagenfurt in Carinthia. She is majoring in psychology.
Windl has been involved with the Last Generation group for a while. The group’s civil disobedience tactics included vandalizing artwork or obstructing roads, which frequently caused public outrage.
The group staged 276 traffic blockades in Germany in 2022 alone. They threw soup at a glass-enclosed picture of The Sower by Vincent Van Gogh in Rome.
They also poured mashed potatoes upon a Monet picture in Potsdam. However, none of the paintings they attacked were damaged.
She was also active in an international movement of school students – Friday for Future. Numerous school student would skip their classes on Friday and participate in protests demanding action from political leaders to prevent climate change.

Anja Windl Is To Be Expelled To Her Hometown
Anja Windl disclosed to Heute this week that the immigration police are examining several years of residence bans for her in Austria.
The activist explained to the publication, “An identity check was done, and the immigration police received my information.”
The psychology student in Austria further disclosed that she has already accumulated a long list of administrative penalties, and immigration officers want to ban her from staying in the republic.
The German native stated, “I feel it outrageous that I am not allowed to protest in Austria. “I lived for several years in Austria, but it is still unclear to what extent this can be enforced legally,” Anja added.
She has a meeting with the immigration police scheduled on Thursday. Windl noted everything would clear after the meeting.
The Lower Bavaria native already learned from various individuals that she was a thorn in the side due to her high-profile adhesive demonstrations/protest on major traffic routes, which might most likely be eliminated under the scope of a dwelling restriction.
However, Windl revealed that she would not be deterred and would continue to take her protest to the streets.
