George Clooney is an American Actor, filmmaker, and human right activist. He is the Co-founder of the Sudan Sentinel Project, which keeps track of human right abuse on the border south.

Is George Clooney Still In Jail Or Released?
Clooney was taken into custody but released the same day after paying a $100 fine, said Gwendolyn Crump, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police Department.
He added, “For certain criminal charges approved by the Board of Judges of the Superior Court, arrestees may qualify to have their cases resolved without having the time and expense of a court case or having a conviction on their record.”
After being released, Clooney met with President Barak Obama and discussed his concerns about Sudan.
Clooney told The Associated Press that he could only hope to draw some attention to the crisis in Sudan, but he needs to find out if any progress has been made.
He mentioned that he was impressed with Obama’s interest in the issue. He said, “It’s amazing to sit down with a world Leader who knows all of the intricacies of what’s going on in Sudan,”
But the Sudan embassy released a statement claiming Clooney supports “rebels against innocent civilians” and tells the Congressman man supporting him are misguided.
The embassy added more, saying Clooney has broken international law by sneaking into the border area without having a visa.
Why Was George Clooney Arrested?
On 16 March 2012, protesters, including a congressman, human rights activists, and faith leaders, gathered outside the Sundanese Embassy in Washington to protest against the Sundanese government.
The protestors gathered in the street holding slogans, “End the silence stop the violence,” and “End the silence, stop the violence.”
After several speeches by different protest leaders, Police officers warned them three times before being arrested.
A few moments later, Police began arresting the protestors. The group stood firmly and waited for the Police to apply handcuffs as they started chanting “al-Bashir to the ICC, mentioning the International Criminal Court, where Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir was charged with inhuman activity.
The protestors included George Clooney, Martin Luther King III, NAAP president Ben Jealous, Jim McGovern, Al Green, Jim Morann, and Tom Andrews; Democratic Reps.
A moment before the arrest, Clooney said, “We are here to ask two straightforward questions; the first question is something immediate – and immediately, we need humanitarian aid to be allowed into Sudan before it becomes the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.
And the second thing is for the government in Khartoum to stop randomly killing its innocent men, women, and children. Stop raping them and stop starving them. That’s all we ask.”
Secret Service spokesman said Clooney was Charged with Civil disobedience, a disorderly crossing of a Police line. He intended to be arrested before he joined the protest.
