Nepali nurse Asmita Pandey has been arrested and might face more than 30 years sentence in an Australian prison.
The news has confirmed that she will be sentenced in March; after she got arrested, it was confirmed that she is three months pregnant.
Pandey worked at Estia Health in Epping, Sydney; she served as a nurse in healthcare for almost a year.
But, one day, she was witnessed hitting an elderly resident while helping her shower; it was confirmed that she was an 86-year-old woman.
The investigation revealed that another 95-year-old woman got slapped by a healthcare worker earlier in March 2022.
After being on a lengthy trial, she got arrested and ordered to appear for sentencing on March 17, 2023.
Many people have shared their thought about the incident; she was an eyewitness two times, which means she hit the woman in healthcare more than that.
Pandey has been a band working in healthcare and other places until she will be present in March for her sentencing order.
The nurse’s personal information has not been publicly revealed; she has not shared about her family, husband, or other close friends.

Following the hearing in an Australian court, the daughter, whose mother got assured by Pandey, talked about her feelings with 9 News.
Rosslyn Peschke, daughter of the 86-year-old woman, said, “It’s quite confronting to get a phone call that’s telling you that someone that you’ve placed into a care situation has been mistreated in such a way,”
She mentioned she has never been the same and was quite off sometimes. But, they did not take it seriously and thought it was normal.
But, after the news, they knew it was because of the healthcare. Also, the woman suffered from bruising, so she got hospitalized many times.
Estia Health CEO Sean Bilton apologized for the incidents; he stated statements on Monday.
Bilton said, “As soon as we became aware of the allegations, we informed the Police and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and met with the families of those residents involved,”
Since March 2022, interim prohibition order was placed against Pandey for eight weeks, on June 9, 2022, again on December 19, 2022, and finally, her last hearing was on March 17, 2022.
