Brooks Robinson was a former American professional baseball player who is widely regarded as one of the greatest third basemen in the history of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Furthermore, Robinson spent the majority of his illustrious career playing for the Baltimore Orioles from 1955 to 1977. He was known for his exceptional defensive skills and was awarded 16 Gold Glove Awards during his career.

Likewise, he was a 15-time All-Star and played a pivotal role in the Orioles’ success during the 1960s and early 1970s, including their World Series championships in 1966 and 1970.

Over the years, Brooks Robinson faced some health challenges. He battled prostate cancer and had a complex operation called a Whipple procedure in 2008.

In 2012, he had a serious fall from a stage, which resulted in a broken scapula and four vertebrae. More recently, in 2021, he suffered a fall while getting out of a car, which led to a broken left arm.

Did Brooks Robinson Die Of Cancer?

Brooks Robinson’s actual death cause has not been posted, but many people are assuming that he passed away following a battle with cancer.

As stated earlier, Brooks has gone through many hard times in his life, mainly related to his health. Even though Robinson faced health challenges as he got older, he always found his way back to the Orioles.

In 2009, he got the right treatment and successfully beat prostate cancer. In 2011, Robinson had to have emergency surgery because he got an infection after a regular procedure.

Due to multiple health issues, online users are saying that Robinson passed away following cancer. As of now, the family seeks privacy and has not given much info.

Brooks Robinson was diagnosed with cancer, and he got the treatment in 2009. It was his main illness. Besides, he had other health issues, which many sources have covered in the news.

In January 2012, Robinson had a mishap at a charity event in Florida. He fell backward from a raised platform chair, broke his shoulder blade, and had to go to the hospital.

Even with all the challenges, on September 29, 2012, Brooks made a special visit to Camden Yards. They unveiled a statue of him in Legends Park, right next to statues of the other Hall of Fame legends.
