The league has not disclosed the exact circumstances surrounding Ben Siegfried’s death. However, losing such an integral training team member has been a significant blow to the Battlehawks and the XFL community.

Despite the tragic news, the Battlehawks are scheduled to play their first home game of the season against the Arlington Renegades at the Dome at America’s Center on Sunday. The team will also face the D.C. Defenders on March 18 in another home game at the same venue.

In the 2020 season, the league and the Battlehawks gained significant support and attention from numerous companies and fans before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with only five of ten games being played.

Following the team’s inaugural season, the Battlehawks hired Antony Becht, a former St. Louis Ram, as the head coach on April 13, 2022. Becht was expected to lead the team in the 2023 season revival, and it became official when the XFL announced the team’s return to St. Louis on July 24, 2022.

In light of Ben Siegfried’s passing, the Battlehawks are undoubtedly facing a difficult and emotional time. Still, they will honor his memory and continue striving for success in the XFL.
