In Wilson, a 14-year-old child was killed, and a 19-year-old male was taken into custody and accused.

Bernard Williams’ body was reportedly discovered in a ditch early Sunday morning near Highway 264 East near Landfill Road.

According to the sheriff’s office, Williams of Kent Road had been shot and died there, according to the evidence.

Rasheem Tytavious Battle was taken into custody without a struggle by deputies who surrounded his home in the 900 block of Briggs Street on Monday morning.

He was accused of murder in the first degree. At the residence, deputies reportedly seized materials “related to the crime.”

A 14-year-old kid was found dead in a ditch by Wilson County officers on Sunday, and the sheriff’s office says it is looking into whether the death was a homicide.

Deputies located Bernard Williams at 9:16 am on Landfill Road, close to U.S. Highway 264 Alternate East.

On Tuesday morning, the defendant Rasheem Tytavious Battle (left) enters his appearance in Wilson County District Court.

About Bernard D. Williams’s death, Battle is accused of first-degree murder. Officer David Strickland of the Wilson County Detention Center is pictured to the right.

EMS workers pronounced Williams deceased when deputies and emergency medical services (EMS) arrived on the site.

On Monday, the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office said that Rasheem TyTavious Battle had been taken into custody.

Crystal Harris, Williams’ mother, claimed she could not stop thinking about it.

Harris predicted that he would never be able to attend a prom. I will never witness his marriage or the birth of his first child.

Harris said that “Tankman” was her son’s nickname.

Harris described her son as “sweet, he knew a lot of people, he was friendly, and he made friends easily.” He liked to make jokes. He enjoyed being a clown, cracking jokes, and giving you cute nicknames.

The sheriff’s office had not given a death cause as of Monday night. “Why me?” said Harris. “Seven months ago, I had just lost my dad.

I was once again in the same predicament. Just curious as to why. Why would someone harm my son in this way? He wasn’t a bad kid at all.

Williams’ family is organizing a vigil and balloon release for Thursday evening. Harris remarked, “He was very loved, and I just couldn’t see anyone wanting to harm him.”

The battle had just been prosecuted for the first-degree murder of Bernard Dionysus Williams of Kent Road after being brought from the Wilson County Detention Center. The Daniels Learning Center student Williams went by the moniker “Tankman.”

The battle was handcuffed between three sheriff’s deputies while Chief District Judge William C. Farris read the accusations to him. Farris informed Battle that a lawyer appointed by the court would represent him.

The battle is still being held without bond at the Wilson County Detention Facility. Wanda Samuel, the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office’s chief of staff, said that he was arrested on Monday.
