The longtime Boston television personality Bob Lobel faced yet another health fight, this time quite serious.

He had paralysis and faced difficulties in day-to-day tasks and motion. But the sportscaster loves playing golf.

Also, Lobel can ride his golf cart buggy to reach his destination while playing golf. 

Bob revealed that he became a transverse myelitis patient in the 1980s when he was first diagnosed with the disease.

Yes, his condition is severe. Sadly, he lost his leg control to paralysis of the disease. 

The sportscaster shared his challenges with his paralysis journey after diagnosing the disorder. He said: 

Yes, I was sad after my first diagnosis in 2008. I am paralyzed from the waist. But I love playing golf. 

Fortunately, Bob was flown on a medical plane from Florida to Boston for treatment. His positive attitude became a boost for his health in many ways. He started living life, enjoying sports. 

Doctors say that transverse myelitis is a neurological disorder caused by swelling on both sides of one level or segment of the spinal cord.

The fatal part of the disorder is that the disease is chronic and has negative impacts such as paralysis. 

However, the Former Channel 4 sportscaster has been battling his disease fiercely by adopting a sports-oriented lifestyle. He plays golf and uses a bionic leg for motion. 

Although the disorder has taken away both legs, Lobel’s mental strength is unshaken, inspiring many patients to do the same.
