Boy George hat

Boy George is seen in his hat every time, leading many to wonder if there is a particular reason, like baldness, scars, or others.

Boy George, the stage name of English singer-songwriter George Alan O’Dowd, is also a DJ, record producer, fashion designer, and photographer.

George is the lead singer of the pop band Culture Club, famous for their global hits like Karma ChameleonTime (Clock of the Heart), & Do You Really Want to Hurt Me.

In addition to his soulful voice, George is known for his unique androgynous appearance. It even led many to think he was a girl, to which he responded by saying he intended to trigger that reaction.

Boy George Hat And Makeup Give Him A Unique Style

Pop Icon Boy George is known for his animated style on and off stage. The former Culture Club frontman is almost always seen in makeup and his iconic hat.

Onlookers ask if there is a specific reason behind his headgear, like Gregory Porter, who initially started wearing one to cover his scars.

However, in the case of Boy George, it is a simple style statement. He likes having a head item as a part of his unique style, as he shared in So Graham Norton in 2000. “I like hats. I mean, they hide a multitude of sins,” George said.

It has been reported that George used to have around 300 hats in his collection, but that figure could be higher now since the Covid-19 pandemic.

“This hat shop I used to buy the hats from closed down during the pandemic. So, I bought all their last hats,” George said.

The Karma Chameleon hitmaker even had a special hat designed for his time at I’m a Celebrity, which featured a crown.
