The kind of dementia affecting the performer, Bruce, is just one of the many different shapes that dementia can take.

It’s critical to identify which one a patient has because it can impact the type of treatment required and what the patient and family can anticipate.

Furthermore, the actor currently has frontotemporal dementia, a rare condition that typically appears ahead of other types of dementia.

Neurologist Nicholas Milano, M.D., who focuses on treating patients with all forms of dementia, described Willis’s situation.

Frontotemporal dementia, according to Milano, is really an umbrella term for two major kinds of dementia.

“That umbrella term encompasses frontotemporal dementia’s behavioral subtype.

Patients with the behavioral variant of this condition have a progressive change in their persona where they become apathetic or maybe disinhibited and have more difficulty with problem-solving skills when it comes to their thinking.”

There is no treatment or way to lower the growth of frontotemporal dementia, according to Milano.

“Since it is less known than Alzheimer’s disease, there really hasn’t been as much study done on it, and there are no proven effective treatments.”
