At a Tops Friendly Markets grocery store in the East Side area of Buffalo, New York, the United States, a mass shooting took place on 14th May 2022.

Three people were hurt and ten people were killed, all of whom were Black. The shooter, 18-year-old Payton S. Gendron, live-streamed a portion of the assault on Twitch, but the service cut the live stream off in less than two minutes.

After being detained, Gendron was accused of first-degree homicide. On 19th May 2022, he officially entered a “not guilty” plea.

Gendron entered a plea guilty to all state charges related to the killing, including murder, hate crimes, and domestic terrorism, on November 28, 2022.

Buffalo Supermarket Shooting Leaked Video: 2022 Case Trending On Internet

Gendron reached at the Tops Market on Jefferson Avenue, which is located in a primarily Black area of Buffalo, New York, at about 2:30 p.m. EDT (UTC 04:00).

He was equipped with several 30-round ammunition magazines and an AR-15-style Bushmaster XM-15 rifle that had been modified to accommodate larger magazines.

He had a Mossberg 500 shotgun and a Savage Arms Axis XP shooting rifle in his vehicle. He was using a head-mounted camera to broadcast the assault on the website Twitch while wearing a military helmet, body armor, and other protective gear.

Furthermore, he was heard saying “just got to go for it” on his live stream as he neared the scene. Buffalo police got a call at 2:31 p.m. stating that shots had been fired at the store. 

In the parking lot, Gendron shot four individuals, killing three of them.[28] He then went inside the store, where he shot eight more individuals, killing six of them.[12][29] A law enforcement source claims that he hurled racial epithets at the time of the incident.

During the shooting, a total of sixty shots were fired.

The shooting video which was live-streamed on Twitch is now again going viral in 2023 and the buffalo supermarket shooting case is again garnering the attention of the public.

Victims Of The Buffalo Supermarket Shooting

Thirteen innocent people—11 Black and 2 White—were shot, resulting in ten fatalities during the 2022 Buffalo Supermarket shooting.

The shooter was confronted by one of them, Aaron Salter Jr. then 55 years old man who was a retired lieutenant with the Buffalo Police Department and was working as a security guard.

 In addition to Aaron, the individuals fatally shot were Roberta A. Drury, 32; Celestine Chaney, 65; Andre Mackniel, 53; Margus D. Morrison, 52;  Katherine Massey, 72;  Heyward Patterson, 67; Ruth Whitfield, 86; Geraldine Talley, 62; and Pearl Young, 77.

Moreover, the store’s four fatalities included Salter, who passed away, but the other three did not. The ten victims were all Black.

What Led Payton Gendron To Carry Out The Shooting?

According to police, Gendron planned the shooting deliberately to target Black people in accordance with the “great replacement” idea of racism.

According to Police, Gendron drove three hours from his residence in Conklin, New York, to the Friendly Markets in a predominantly Black area of Buffalo.

Authorities assert that the shooter opened fire both inside and outside the shop while brandishing a semiautomatic rifle and wearing body armor killing 13 people.

His main motive behind the shooting was his hate against black people and the community.
