Meet Bukayo Saka Parents And Family Members

Bukayo Ayoyinka T. M. Saka was born in Ealing, Greater London, England, to his parents Yomi Saka and Adenike Saka.

In an interview, Saka talked about the importance of his Father, Yomi, in his footballing career.

He cited his dad as a massive inspiration. “From when I was young, he always kept me grounded, kept me humble,” the young footballer said.

Saka is the youngest of two children in his family and has an elder brother named Abayomi Saka.

Bukayo attended Edward Betham Church of England Primary School and Greenford High School. He was a talented student and gained high grades in his GCSEs, attaining four A*s and three As.

Before joining his future club, Arsenal, Saka played youth football for Greenford Celtic, a local club. 

What Is Bukayo Saka’s Ethnicity And Origin?

Bukayo Saka belongs to the Yoruba tribe/ ethnic group of Nigeria. His name “Bukayo” originates from the Yoruba language widely spoken in southern Nigeria and means “adds to happiness.”

Members of this ethnic group live primarily in southwest Nigeria, southern Benin, eastern Togo, West Africa, Brazil, and Cuba.

His parents, Yomi and Adenike Saka, migrated to London from Nigeria in the 1990s as economic migrants. 

With his Nigerian roots and English citizenship, Saka could choose to play for either Nigeria or England and selected the latter.

He joins the ranks of players like Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori, who have decided to stick with England, in contrast to Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses. They have made the switch to Nigeria in recent years.

Bukayo Saka Religion Is Christianity

Likewise, the Arsenal midfielder follows Christianity as his religion. He is a proud and devout Christian. The first line of his Instagram bio says, “God’s child.”

Saka attended a Christian school called Edward Betham Church of England Primary School. Earlier this year, he was asked to share his views on how Christian faith and fame go together with the students.

The English player credited his family with introducing him to the faith and talked about the importance of prayer.

“I grew up in a Christian family who believe strongly in God,” Saka wrote. He also mentioned that he was always curious to get to know God more and studied Bible, and went to church regularly.

“I love how Bukayo speaks with such passion about his beliefs,” his former Arsenal teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain said. He also mentioned that famous people did not talk about their faith and spoke highly of Saka’s beliefs.
