A Look Into Buzz Aldrin Family

Edwin Eugene Aldrin Jr. was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, United States, to his parents, Marion Aldrin (née Moon) and Edwin Eugene Aldrin Sr.

Edwin Sr. was an Army aviator during the first world war and the assistant commandant (1919 to 1922) of the test pilot school at McCook Field, Ohio.

He eventually left the Army in 1928 and served as an Executive at Standard Oil.

Aldrin had two older sisters: Madeleine and Fay Ann. His nickname, which was made his legal first name in 1988, came about since Fay used to mispronounce “brother” as “buzzer,” which became shortened to “Buzz.”
