Caitlyn Kaufman was a nurse from Nashville, Tennessee, U.S. Besides being a professional nurse, Kaufman was also an athletic personality. She was a swimmer and a diver.

Also, the late nurse worked as a medical staff member for several sports events, such as the Clarion Open Wrestling Tournament and the Tony Banner Volleyball Tournament. 

Furthermore, Kaufman was an experienced nurse as she worked in different units. She was a medical intensive care unit (MICU) nurse at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.

Likewise, she was a summer help at Ak Steel Butler Works in Butler, where she served from May 2014 to August 2014.

Kaufman was working and was doing well in her professional career. However, her life ended in December 2020 when she was killed while commuting to work at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West.

All her family members were shocked to hear the news of Caitlyn’s passing. The case finally ends as the shooter, Devaunte, is sentenced. 

Nurse Caitlyn Kaufman’s Death and Obituary Details

American nurse Caitlyn Kaufman passed away at 26 after being shot. On December 11, 2020, Kaufman’s death news was announced.

Per a report, she was driving her gray Mazda CX-5 sport utility vehicle (SUV) to work. Her shift started at 7:00 pm, but she couldn’t make it.

Just before 9:00 pm that night, a Metro Parks officer found Kaufman fatally shot inside her car on Interstate 440 in Nashville.

Meanwhile, Caitlyn was originally from Chicora, Pennsylvania, and moved to Nashville in 2018 after getting a job at Saint Thomas West.

Her mother, Diane Kaufman, told The Tennessean that Caitlyn desired to live in Nashville for a long time. The Clarion University of Pennsylvania graduate also studied at Butler County Community College.

The award-winning nurse did her best during the COVID-19 pandemic as she worked on the front actively.

Caitlyn Kaufman Murderer Devaunte Hill and James Cowan Trial

Following nurse Caitlyn Kaufman’s murder, two gunmen, Devaunte Lewis Hill and James Cowan, were arrested on December 11. They shot the nurse between 6:05 pm and 6:10 pm.

Devaunte was detained from his East Nashville apartment, while James was arrested on December 12 in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Antioch.

After that, Hill was taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide, while James was charged with first-degree murder. It is reported that the two gunmen shot Kaufman as she cut them off on I-440.

Likewise, their trial continued for a long time, and Cowan pleaded not guilty verdict on all charges. Recently, the one who shot Caitlyn is being sentenced.

Devaunte Hill Is Being Sentenced For Killing Caitlyn Kaufman – Serving Time

Caitlyn Kaufman is finally getting justice as her murderer is being sentenced. The jury found Devaunte guilty of second-degree murder. 

Following a lengthy trial, Devaunte is finally being sentenced on Friday, as reported by FOX 17. The same report said that Judge Angelita Dalton would sentence him.

After the news of Devaunte being sentenced came into the media, people were curious about his imprisonment details.

So, it is said that the shooter, Devaunte faces a minimum of up to 15 years and a maximum of up to 25 years in prison. More details regarding the case will be updated soon.
