Chloe Dygert is a professional racing cyclist from the United States of America riding for UCI Women’s WorldTeam Canyon–SRAM.

The 5 feet 9 inches tall cyclist has participated in many games and events and has even won most of them. She has taken home seven gold medals at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships.

Likewise, Dygert has played in the Olympic games and won a silver medal. Meanwhile, she became World Champion in the team pursuit for the second time at the 2017 UCI Track Cycling World Championships held in Hong Kong.

Apart from her professional life, Dygert was once involved in a controversy, and many people even criticized her.

Is Chloe Dygert Racist?

No, Chloe Dygert is not racist, but once, due to some reasons, many online users criticized her and even called her a racist. In early 2020, Dygert made headlines after some social media users took screenshots of Dygert liking some tweets.

She allegedly liked one tweet by author Candace Owens which seems to have been deleted. In the same way, another tweet she had liked read, “White privilege doesn’t exist.”

Furthermore, Dygert also wrote other tweets which left people saying that Chloe is racist. Dygert got into the scandal after liking these tweets, and everyone shared the screenshots on Twitter.

After getting tons of messages, Dygert took to Instagram to apologize. She said, “I apologize to those who felt offended or hurt by my conduct on social media. I am committed to keep learning and growing as an athlete and a person.”

Chloe Dygert Controversy and Scandal Explained

Chloe Dygert was in the middle of a controversy in the past, and the scandal still makes rounds on the internet. As said earlier, it all started in 2020 when she liked some tweets.

In early 2020, many in the sport turned a blind eye when it came to media that world-champion Dygert liked several racist and transphobic tweets.

Following that, her sponsors were also criticized. So, it took six weeks for the cyclist’s professional team, named CANYON//SRAM Racing, and Rapha, to decry Dygert’s actions publicly. 

When she liked the tweets, she was also associated with TWENTY20 Pro Cycling but didn’t give any response to the matter. Later, it was reported that Dygert had, unlike everything.

What Is Chloe Dygert Incidente?

As said earlier, Chloe Dygert was once a hot topic on the internet after liking some tweets. She later apologized for her actions. Apart from that, Dygert has also faced some hard times in her life.

On September 24, 2020, she crashed during the women’s time trial event at the UCI Road World Championships. During that time, Chloe was severely injured.

Following the horrific accident, Dygert suffered a laceration to her left leg, requiring surgery. Further, she required three surgeries to repair the damage and was also laid low by the Epstein-Barr virus in 2022.

Not to mention, the Epstein-Barr virus is a common and highly contagious infection that spreads through bodily fluids, especially saliva (spit).
