The musician had minor health issues in 2017, so he twice postponed shows at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center. He was suffering from flu and recovered soon.

The singer updated his fans and well-wishers, saying he hates to deliver bad news but was feeling under the weather. The legendary musician added he wouldn’t want to give any less than a hundred percent on the stage.

Clint Black Fight Against Rett’s Syndrome

Clint Black makes space in his busy schedule for a special mission. He has been actively creating awareness for Rett’s Syndrome. The Black family is more than familiar with the rare disease.

Clint Black’s niece and his brother Kevin Black’s daughter, Cortney, suffered from the illness and lost the fight at 16. Rett’s Syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the development of the brain and almost exclusively affects girls.

The Black Brothers have been raising awareness of the Syndrome since. The disease is often misdiagnosed. Early on, typical hand movements are an indicative sign of the disorder.

In an interview with CNN, the musician shared that he never really knew what he could do. But he said Kevin was trying to help others suffering from the illness by raising funds. Clint immediately got involved.

Two brothers began holding annual golf tournaments and concerts. Clint even went on Apprentice and raised $20,000. While participating in “The Apprentice,” the musician’s co-cast Scott Hamilton vowed to help him raise more money.

They acquired a grant from the Pioneer Fund for a million dollars. The Good Run of Bad Luck singer also serves as the honorary chairperson for the Research to Reality Campaign at the International Rett Syndrome Foundation.

Clint Black was born in Long Branch, New Jersey, on February 4, 1962. He is the youngest of Ann Scherma’s four children with Gwin Augusta “G.A.” Black, Jr.
