The LSU star stated, “I was critiqued about who I was all year. I don’t match the story. You all want to put me in a box, but I don’t belong there. I’m too ghetto, too hood. All year, you kept telling me that. But none of you speak up when other people do it.”

Reese concluded her post-game remarks by saying, “So this is for the girls that resemble me and want to express their beliefs. It is unapologetically you. Tonight, it was bigger than I was. I’m happy. I believe I positively impacted the development of women’s basketball.”
