Authorities have reported that a crowded Sweet 16 birthday party in rural Dadeville, Alabama, was the scene of a mass shooting on Saturday night, resulting in four deaths and 32 injuries.
The perpetrator of the shooting is currently not in custody and is being actively sought by law enforcement.

One of the victims who lost his life in the shooting at a Sweet 16 birthday party in Alabama over the weekend was not a partygoer but instead went to the venue to check on a younger family member who was worried about the possibility of trouble.
The victim was identified as Corbin Dahmontrey Holston, one of the four people fatally shot. The shooting also resulted in injuries to 28 other individuals.
The other victims who died in the shooting were Philstavious Dowdell, 18, Shaunkivia Nicole “Keke” Smith, 17, seniors at Dadeville High School, and Marsiah Emmanuel “Siah” Collins, 19.
The party was for Philstavious Dowdell’s sister. According to Alexis Dowdell, the celebrant, and partygoers enjoyed the music when the shooting started, causing panic and chaos.
She recalls her brother grabbing and pushing her to the ground while the shooting continued and feeling a pool of blood on the floor.
Eventually, she managed to leave the venue unharmed and found her stepfather and mother, LaTonya Allen, also at the party.

Unfortunately, Corbin encountered the suspects and was fatally shot along with three other individuals.
His mother said, “Corbin was selfless when it came to his family and friends and always tried to be a protector,’ “That’s just the type of person he was.”
Holston arrived at the party shortly after receiving the call, and the shooting began shortly after.
The family member stated that if it weren’t for the younger relative’s concern, Holston would not have attended the party and would not have been a victim of the shooting.
Holston did not think of any other thing and just went to the party for his younger relative, who was attending the party.
According to Holston’s family, he saved his younger relative before he was fatally shot during the incident.
After receiving a call that he had been shot, his family rushed to the hospital only to learn that he did not survive. Holston was a 2018 graduate of Dadeville High School and was known to be a loving and caring individual.
Despite his imperfections, he always put the well-being of his family and friends first. His mother, Janett Heard, said he loved his family and the community.
