Mother Jenny, and her two genetic children, Donnie and Jessica, became siblings to her six adopted children: Michael, Johanna, Jonathan, and Lydia Grace Galusha from India, and Andrew and his brother Raymond born in Sierra Leone, West Africa.
Despite the different backgrounds, Lydia from India, Andrew from West Africa, and Michael, originally from Atlanta, were closer than most blood siblings, particularly the brothers.

Returning to Atlanta for a sort of homecoming and defeating the Atlanta Falcons, Gallup learned of his brother’s suicide as soon as he exited the field at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
After the victory over the Falcons, Georgia-native Gallup stayed with his family before reuniting with them before Dallas’ Thanksgiving game against the Redskins. Later, he returned to Georgia to attend his brother Andrew’s burial.
Getting news like that was, by far, the most challenging thing Gallup had to do in his life. He mentioned, “You are not a thinker, are you? You merely sit there sobbing. I only sat there sobbing.”
He added, “I cried the entire drive home after getting in the car with my sister. It is not much you can do about it. You cannot prepare your body for this in any way.”
