Olmo may not receive an assist in his first World Cup game since Gavi’s ball was deflected on its approach to him.

But even before the game began, the young man from Barcelona had made history.

When Gavi represented Spain at a significant international competition at 18 years and 110 days old, he made history as the country’s youngest player.

Spain’s Important Goals At The World Cup

Dani Olmo’s 100th World Cup goal becomes one of the most important goals in Spain’s history.

However, Andres Iniesta’s late victory in the 2010 World Cup final is undoubtedly the most significant of Spain’s World Cup goals.

The former Barcelona midfielder controlled the ball and blasted in as time expired in a goalless match with penalties looming, giving La Roja their first world title and second straight tournament victory following Euro 2008.

Surprisingly, Spain has only advanced past the World Cup quarterfinals once, in 2010, which means that many of their tournament goals have been relatively ineffective.
