He died unexpectedly aged 58. His cause of ***** is still undetermined.

They want to put on a big show to celebrate his life as Daniel would have liked, and everybody will be wearing bright colors to pay tribute to him.

Daniel Lightfoot Family: He Is Survived By His Daughter 

Daniel Lightfoot was born in Brisbane, Australia, in 1965. His passion for design started in his parents’ home, when he used to start sewing from 2 or 3 am, often interrupting their sleep.

Daniel married Suzie in 1990, and the couple was blessed with their daughter, Paris Lightfoot.

Paris is deeply grieving the loss of her Father. Talking to 9News Queensland, she said, “We want to celebrate everything he did and remember him as the fun, crazy, hilarious person he was.”

Although Daniel and Suzie split, they were still close and regularly appeared on the Brisbane social scene.

“[He was] a brilliant designer, talented, and his eye for detail and craftsmanship and his joy for fashion was contagious,” Suzie said.

Daniel lived a family-focused life, making all the formal designs for his daughter. “I was very lucky to have all those dresses,” Paris said.

Likewise, in 1997, he got international recognition when he was voted best Day Wear designer in the world, ahead of 85 fashion designers, at the annual Miss World contest.

When starting, Daniel exclusively made up-market women’s wear but later diversified his Company to include corporate uniforms and men’s wear.

His designs started selling in the department store David Jones. He got bigger, sold nationally, and started styling all the big names. He also styled celebrities for award shows, weddings, and other events.

Daniel was committed to ensuring the growth of the Queensland fashion industry. He became a member of the QUT Advisory Board and the Australian Fashion Design Awards Committee (formerly the RAQ Awards).
