The WTA No.7 tennis player preferred a trial run first to see how well they worked together.

Serena William’s coach Patrick Mouratoglou was the one who helped Collins come in contact with Almagro.

The tennis player emphasized the importance of having a top player such as Nico, as they would know what is required to reach that level. She said, “….to have a former Top-10 player coaching me is special.”

Nicolas Almagro Sanchez is a retired Spanish tennis player who is a former quarter-finalist at the French, Australian, and U.S. Open. The former player has won 13 ATP (The Association of Tennis Professionals) titles.

American Tennis Player Danielle Collins’ Father Runs A Small Landscaping Company

Danielle Rose Collins was born on December 13, 1993, to Walter Collins and Cathy Collins.

Danielle’s Father is a huge fan of tennis and was the one to introduce her to the sport at an early age. Walter also coached the tennis star during her early days and would wake up at 5 in the morning to practice.

Walter Collins is the owner of a small landscaping business. At 83, the player’s Father still runs the Company, trimming bushes and mowing lawns.

Cathy, on the other hand, is a former grade-school teacher. Both Cathy and Walter would alternatively drive Danielle to her junior tournaments.

The former collegiate player has an older brother named Joel. The Collins kids were raised in a humble and down-to-earth household. To this day, the tennis player is extremely cautious with her money.

Danielle Collins’ Former Boyfriend, Thomas Couch, Was Her Trainer

Danielle Collins was in a relationship with retired Australian football player Thomas Couch. The former football player was also her trainer in 2019.

The pair first met at the Acapulco Open in Mexico in 2019 as Couch was a trainer to many Australian tennis players.

Thomas is the son of the former football player and Brownlow Medalist Paul Couch.

The AFL player was pocked by the Melbourne Football Club in 2012 and played three matches with the team before being delisted in 2013.

In the 2020 French Open, the former couple sparked some controversy when the 28-year-old player shouted at Thomas to sit in a spot other than the player’s box as she was distracted.

After the match, she clarified the situation and said, “I had my boyfriend move to a different spot because I was distracted by something in front of him.”

The reigning Australian Open finalist and the former rules player have separated.

Collins is currently dating fit model and guitarist Joe Vollen. Joe has worked with brands such as Club Monaco, Banana Republic, Ralph Lauren, and Calvin Klein.

The tennis player’s current boyfriend has a degree in Psychological Brain Sciences from John Hopkins University. As a guitarist, Joe has worked with grammy-winner DJ Mark James.

The model has previously dated former tennis player Lucia Safarova.

The 28-year-old won two WTA singles titles in 2021 at Palermo and Silicon Valley. In 2019, she was a semifinalist at the Australian Open after defeating WTA No.2 ranked player Angelique Kerber.
