The former Disney Distribution Executive met his ex-wife, Rachel, in Los Angeles in the early 2000s. The instantly smitten couple dated for about two years before walking down the aisle in 2004.
During their time together, the Hollis couple built their empire. They began a joint podcast, “Rise Together,” and shared details about their successful marriage.
The couple was happy and contented together. At least, they made the public believe. Due to this, their divorce announcement in June 2020 shocked everyone.

After their third son, Ford, was born, the ex-lovebirds wanted to have a daughter. So, they began the adoption process in 2012. According to Rachel’s blog post in 2014, they wanted to adopt a girl from Ethiopia.
Although they completed papers works, medical tests, and other necessary tests, the system in Ethiopia was time-consuming. They had to wait over three years, leading them to adopt domestically.
But it was not easy either. To be eligible for domestic adoption, the pair had to be certified foster parents with at least a six-month commitment to foster care service.
Moreover, in Rachel’s 2016 blog post, the couple looked after two girls and was required to return them to another foster home. Shortly after, newborn twins left in the hospital were given to Rachel and Dave.
Although it looked like they could adopt the twins, four weeks after having the babies in their House, the Hollis couple sent the twins back to their biological parents.
Finally, in March 2017, the couple was allowed to adopt a baby girl – Noah Hollis. Noah’s adoption process ended in January 2018.
