Christian Author David Jeremiah Illness: Survived Lymphoma
Renowned Christian author and speaker Dr. David Jeremiah was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1994 and 1998.
In 1994, he was first diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma at the Rochester, Minnesota-based clinic – Mayo Clinic.
The clinic sent him back to this local hospital in La Jolla to care for me.
On that first day, as he went to the clinic, I met oncologist Dr. Alan Saven, and for many years, he is still the one who examines me twice a year.
Lymphoma is a type of cancer affecting the lymphatic system, part of the immune system.
The Christian author had a lump/mass in his neck. It was surgically removed.
In an interview, the pastor said that Dr. Saven and Dr. Charles Mason, who presided over the stem cell transplant, ultimately brought him healing from the disease and gave him his back.
The pastor received stem cell therapy in 1999. Fortunately, he survived the dangerous condition and recovered fully.
The Christian author wrote a book called “When Your World Falls Apart,” which describes his experiences during this time.
Dr. Jeremiah also shared his story of cancer and comfort on a podcast with Dr. James Dobson in 2020.
Dr. David Jeremiah Health Update 2023
In January 2023, Dr. Jeremiah suffered a fall while on a conference trip in the Caribbean.
He thought he was totally recovered then, but he later required surgery to correct some remaining effects of his injury.
Doctors urged the pastor to take the rest of April off and cancel any vacation plans so he could fully resume his busy routine.
He intended to preach only at his home church on Easter and not travel until May.
All of Dr. Jeremiah’s April dates, including “Singing In The Sun” in Myrtle Beach, were canceled.
Abraham Productions was disappointed that Dr. Jeremiah could not attend “Singing In The Sun” and hoped for his complete healing and speedy recovery.
Dr. Ralph Sexton preached instead of Dr. Jeremiah at “Singing In The Sun” during his appointed hours.
Dr. Ralph Sexton, who had recently returned from working with refugees in Israel, Poland, and the Ukraine border, provided valuable insight into the prophetic text.
As of this writing, there is no update on Dr. David’s current health condition. Hopefully, the pastor has recovered and is in good health.
