According to a report by TMZ, Soul died Thursday at a hospital in London following a long-term illness. Soul faced several health issues in his life, with one of the most prominent being chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
David attributes his COPD to smoking three packs of cigarettes daily for fifty years. Furthermore, Soul dealt with various issues in his life and also talked about his health problems in interviews.
In an interview, Soul said, “I am a fighter and I did my way through this thing.” Likewise, the late actor also thanked his wife and said that it wouldn’t be easy for him without his wife’s support.

As said earlier, David Soul health was not well before his death. He dealt with various problems in his life mainly his health and the actor always opened up in the media.
Soul battled with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Apart from that, he had cancer removed from his left lung and after that, he continuously dealt with COPD.
Besides COPD, David Soul underwent surgery to replace both hips, underwent decompression surgery on his spine, and had a prosthetic disc implanted in his neck due to nerve damage that resulted in arm paralysis.
This stopped him from playing guitar. In the same way, he also spent some time in a wheelchair. This makes it clear that the actor had multiple health issues before his passing.

David Soul was born on August 28, 1943, and he was raised in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The late actor was 80 years old at the time of his death on January 4, 2024.
Furthermore, Soul was of Norwegian descent. Meanwhile, his mom, June Joanne, was a teacher by profession while his father, Dr. Richard W. Solberg, was a Lutheran minister.
Likewise, it has been said that David was not the only child of his parents as he grew up alongside his brother Rev. Solberg.
