According to police, a boy who had been reported missing by his parents was found the next day shot in the head and suffering from severe burn injuries.
Around 5:45 p.m. on Monday, Deandre Matthews, 19, disappeared from his East Flatbush residence, according to police.
He was discovered the following day at about 4 p.m. in Flatbush, on the tracks of a freight train on Nostrand Ave. near E. 29th St., close to Brooklyn College’s campus.
When Matthews’ body was found, he had already passed away.

Tuesday, his mother’s burned-out Jeep Cherokee was discovered nearby on Troy Avenue. Then, authorities say, his burnt body was discovered next to train tracks near Nostrand Avenue.
