The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC) made such statement on Monday.

Dele Alake, the Adviser on Media, Communications and Public Affairs for the APC PCC, has demanded that the PDP’s Dele Momodu be arrested.

Along with Melaye, the council has also urged security agencies to apprehend Dele Momodu.

To illustrate, Melaye and Momodu are the spokespersons for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

In addition, the council has also requested the Department of State Services to invite Paul Enenche, the Senior Paster of Dunamis Church, for his “inciting sermon” during last Sunday’s service.

Alake alleged that the three individuals had disrupted the electoral process and incited violence through threats and hate speech.

In addition, Alake spoke at an APC media conference and expressed the party’s certainty in winning the 2023 Presidential Election.

Alake cautioned the PDP to follow the rule of law and let INEC carry out its duties without any obstruction. He claimed the APC would not be intimidated by any rival political party.

According to the APC PCC, Dino Melaye has been accused of making inflammatory statements that could cause tension in the country.

He is demanding that the results from the polling units be displayed on the INEC website so that they can be compared with the results presented by the state’s collation officers.

Following the step taken by Melaye, INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu tried to calm him down, saying, “Dino, you are now deliberately being obstructive.

Political Career Of The Nigerian Politician

The politician studied Geography in Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria. After graduation, he worked in the private sector for several years before transitioning to politics.

Melaye was a member of the Nigerian Senate representing Kogi West Senatorial District from 2015 to 2019. 

Before becoming a senator, he was a member of the House of Representatives, representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency from 2007 to 2011.

Melaye was elected to the Nigerian House of Representatives in 2007 and re-elected to the House in 2011.

The politician was also the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values.

In 2018, Melaye was arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearms. He was later released on bail, and the charges were dropped in 2020 due to lack of evidence.
