Maddie Ziegler is alive and well as of 2024. The professional dancer is not suffering from cancer. In addition, she is not suffering from any other illness.
However, to raise awareness and funds for those fighting cancer, Ziegler has collaborated with Dancers Against Cancer since 2016. Ziegler may be seen in PSAs for the organization.
Through dancing and philanthropy, Ziegler is honoring her late grandmother, who passed away from cancer before Maddie was not even born.
The organization’s annual Industry Dance Awards were held in August 2016, and Christina Applegate was honored for her role as a health advocate this year.
One of the dancers employed by the group is Caitlyn Feddock, who had treatment for cancer in the eighth grade and is now in remission.
The former Dance Moms star tells PEOPLE exclusively that the dancer’s mom always told her that she would have loved to meet her and that they would have gotten along so well. Ziegler also believes that her mom helped her become a better dancer.
Ziegler, 21, claims that since she dedicated her solo dance performance of Scarlett Cherry’s “Angel” to her grandma, she has had a “little good luck charm” looking over her whenever she performs.

Maddie Ziegler Other Philanthropies
Maddie Ziegler has participated in many philanthropy activities from a young age.
In order to promote awareness for young people with chronic illnesses, Ziegler teamed up with Starlight Children’s Foundation in 2012, along with her mother and sister.
Ziegler and her sister created a PSA in 2016 for the Birthday Mail initiative of DoSomething.org, which enables people to mail handcrafted birthday cards to kids residing in homeless shelters.
The Ziegler sisters were included on the same organization’s 2016 list of charitable young celebrities.
At Nigel Lythgoe’s Dizzy Feet Foundation gala in 2016, Ziegler also gave a performance alongside Travis Wall to raise money for dance education programs for low-income kids and scholarships for gifted students at dance colleges in the United States.
Additionally, she appeared in a 2017 ASPCA PSA featuring Sia’s song “Puppies Are Forever” to promote adopting dogs from shelters and rescue organizations.
In 2018, Ziegler collaborated with Sia and MAC Cosmetics on an advertisement choreographed to “Helium” by Sia for lipstick, with all sales going to the company’s AIDS Fund.
On July 7, 2019, she appeared on Celebrity Family Feud alongside her sister, mother, aunt, and dancer Charlize Glass, playing for “My Friend’s Place,” where they have previously helped and which serves food to homeless youngsters in Los Angeles.
