Drew Griffin Died From Cancer In December 2022

Drew Griffin, CNN’s award-winning Senior Investigative Correspondent, died Saturday (December 17) after a long battle with Cancer. He was 60.

His family confirmed the unfortunate news. His colleagues praised Griffin’s solid work ethic, who had kept his illness private from most of his co-workers.

Griffin had been reporting until the day he passed. “His death is a devastating loss to CNN and our entire profession,” CNN’s CEO Chris Licht said in a note to staff.

He described Griffin as a highly acclaimed investigative Journalist with a considerable impact. “He embodied the mission of this organization in every way,” Licht added.
