Mark Dial is the Philadelphia police officer who allegedly shot and killed 27-year-old Eddie Irizarry on August 14, 2023. On September 8, 2023, the officer received charges against the killing of Eddie.
The charges included first-degree murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, voluntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment of another person, and official oppression.
On September 20, his bail was revoked, and the case garnered huge public attention. On September 26, Judge Wendy L. Pew, who presided over the case, dropped all charges against Dial.
However, the charges were refiled hours later. So, the officer’s next court date is scheduled for October 25, 2023. Not to mention, the Philadelphia Police Department suspended Dial with the intent to dismiss after officials said he refused to cooperate with investigators.
