Edward Willis Levert, famed by the stage name Eddie Levert is a singer with a higher command in the American Music Industry, famed as the lead vocalist of The O’Jays.

In 1969, The O’Jays signed with Philadelphia International Records, where they began to release records under the new label. Later, his band with EMI-Manhattan Records and Levert and Williams started co-writing and producing their tracks.

Eddie Levert is performing and touring with The O’Jays as a solo artist.

His band, The O’Jays, was awarded BET’s ‘Lifetime Achievement Award,’ Eddie Levert was awarded the Heroes and Legends Pacesetter Award and the “Trumpet Lifetime Achievement Award” on January 29, 2011.

Following the hoax news, his fans immediately started writing their messages of condolence on the Facebook page, expressing their sadness that the talented 80-year-old singer was dead.

On January 10, 2023, the singer’s reps officially confirmed that Eddie Levert was not dead. “He joins the long list of celebrities who this hoax has victimized. He’s still alive and well; stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.

Eddie is alive and healthy, living his old age living with his wife, Raquel and daughter Ryan.

Yet, Eddie’s ***** has been hoaxed by unreliable Youtube channels that are fame-oriented and lacking faces.

Upon searching about Eddie’s *****, one can find more than ten videos claiming that O’Jay’s lead singer has died for several reasons.

Is Eddie Levert Hospitalized?

On July 16, 2022, the O’Jay official Facebook posted Eddie Levert caught a severe case of Covid while rehearsing for The Last Stop on The Love Train tour. 

The singer was recovering and expects to be back on the road soon, but is still not quite well enough to perform.

Looking at his Wikipedia, the Leader had two sons, Gerald Levert (1966–2006) and Sean Levert (1968–2008), both are no more.

Eddie’s son Gerald passed away in 2006 after returning from a trip to South Africa with sons Sean and Gerald because of drug interactions.

Two years later, Eddie’s other son Sean died after being denied prescription medication by government officials in Ohio.

What Happened To Him?

In the meantime, original co-lead and founding member, Mr. Smooth, Walter Williams, Sr., along with 30-year member Eric Nolan Grant, will be appearing along with The O’Jays band performing were also infected with Covid.

His band member, Walter Williams Sr., was severely ill with COVID and had been admitted into a Las Vegas hospital at the onset of the pandemic.
