However, the coach has been arrested multiple times for various reasons. Bieniemy was detained on September 27, 1993, for reportedly harassing a female parking attendant.

According to the Police complaint, Bieniemy shocked the attendant when he put his hand on her neck while he was with his buddies.

Following a bar brawl in February 1988, Bieniemy and his Colorado colleague Kanavis McGhee were both taken into custody.
