Susan E. Snyder of Broadview Heights, Ohio, John E. Snyder of Cardiff, Wales, UK, and Willard Snyder of Athens, Georgia, are the doctor’s surviving children.

The three children of Dr. Snyder are grateful for the legacy their grandfather has left behind. Not only had he outlived his wife, but his son Karl A. Snyder had also passed away before him.

He graduated from Ursinus College with a bachelor’s in science. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy.

Dr. Snyder served in the 9812th Technical Service Unit of the US Army in Los Alamos, New Mexico, during World War II.

He had a technician job in the fourth grade. Dr. Snyder spent 45 years as a physics professor at Ursinus College before retiring in 1991.

He was both a professor and a former department chairman at that time.

As a part of the summer programs for high school teachers offered by the National Science Foundation, he has also instructed courses at New Mexico State University.

He was deeply passionate about spending time with his family and friends and engaging in outdoor activities, including fishing, camping, hiking, and kayaking.

His pastimes included brewing his beer, exploring in his Jeep, and participating in ham radio competitions. His hobbies included travel as well.

When a veteran in the neighborhood needed assistance, he joined the local Chapter 13-3 and assisted many of them with the small tasks the chapter was working on.

He assisted other Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association members with the various problems they were experiencing with their cars because he was skilled in working on motorcycles.
