Faruk Koca punch video has gone viral after he punched referee Halil Umut Meler following his side’s 1-1 draw with Rizespor in the Turkish Super Lig.
Faruk Koca is a Turkish politician, businessman, and sports manager. He was the 42nd MKE Ankaragücü President between June 2021 and December 12, 2023.
In the same way, he was the 22nd and 23rd term deputy of the Turkish Grand National Assembly from November 14, 2002 to April 23, 2011.
Apart from that, Koca received the Fair Play President/Manager Award honored by the Turkish Football Federation in October 2022.
Currently, Koca is making headlines after he punched a referee in a recent game in the Turkish Super Lig.

Faruk Koca punch video has gone viral on various social media platforms including Twitter and TikTok. As said earlier, he punched a referee, and the video was posted online.
According to an online report, Koca ran onto the field and hit referee Halil Umut Meler after their top-flight match against Rizespor.
Ankaragucu led early in Monday night’s Super Lig match but had a player sent off after 50 minutes. Caykur equalized late, both teams had players sent off, and chaos erupted after the final whistle.
Meler was knocked down and received multiple blows while on the ground, resulting in injuries, including a small facial fracture.

Faruk Koca Resigns After Punching Referee – Arrest
Faruk Koca has been dragged into the middle of controversy after punching a referee in a game against Rizespor. After the incident, online users criticized Koca for his actions.
Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc gave an update saying that Koca was arrested along with two others. FIFA President Gianni Infantino called the incident completely unacceptable, stating that, “violence has no room in our sport or society.”
Justice Minister also noted that the investigation is continuing meticulously. So, it is believed that more updates regarding this case will be updated later.
On the other hand, Koca also released a statement after the incident happened noting that he had resigned as club president and apologising for his actions.
Moreover, Koca expressed deep regret for the ‘serious incident’ he caused, feeling greatly embarrassed. He hoped it could prompt Turkish football to address its ‘culture of violence.
Where Is Super Lig Referee Halil Umut Meler Now?
Super Lig Referee Halil Umut Meler suffered some injuries after being punched by Faruk. Reportedly, Meler has a small facial fracture. So, he is currently receiving treatment.
On Tuesday, he was photographed in a hospital bed with a swollen face, wearing a neck brace. Mehmet Yorubulut, the head doctor at Acibadem Hospital, stated that Meler hadn’t sustained any brain damage.
He also went on to report that Meler was expected to be released on Wednesday. Meler also talked about the incident with Turkish news agencies.
Meler said, “Faruk Koca punched me under my left eye – I fell to the ground. While I was on the ground, other people kicked me in the face and other parts of my body many times.”
