Ferno Tweto is an Alaskan native born in Anchorage and raised in Unalakleet.

She is best known as the wife of Jim Tweto, the Chief Operating Officer of Era Alaska, an airline featured in the reality TV show “Flying Wild Alaska.”

Ferno’s life has been closely intertwined with aviation, and she has played a significant role in the success of Era Alaska.

In 1981, Ferno earned her pilot certificate from a school in Everett, Washington. Her passion for flying led her to become a pilot, a skill she shares with her husband, Jim.

Jim Tweto Kids And Family

Jim and Ferno shared three daughters, Ayla, Ariel, and Elaine.

Ariel Tweto, the second child of Jim and Ferno, is part of the Unalakleet ground crew. She is known for her passion for running, as she has been running every day since 2002.

Ariel also showcased her adventurous spirit by participating in the ABC game show Wipeout in 2008 and 2009.

Ariel has also lent her voice to the character Kima Evanoff, a teenage girl, in the Fox animated sitcom The Great North.

Ayla Tweto, the third child of Jim and Ferno, is also a member of the Unalakleet ground crew. While residing in Anchorage, she is pursuing her studies to become a paramedic.

Ayla, like her sister Ariel, holds a private pilot’s certificate. Despite living in Anchorage, she regularly visits her family in Unalakleet every weekend.

In an Instagram post, Jim’s daughter Ariel Tweto said he passed away while pursuing his true passion. Before becoming a pilot, Jim was born in Kansas and grew up in Minnesota.

He relocated to Alaska to play hockey for the University of Alaska Anchorage. After meeting his wife, Ferno, in Unalakleet, Alaska, Jim remained in the state and built his aviation career there.
