Local authorities claimed that Jason Sager, a South Sumter High School teacher in Bushnell, Florida, was detained after being accused of engaging in inappropriate physical contact with two minors and at least one student.

Deputies claimed that after conducting an investigation, they discovered that Sager had been communicating with the student in violation of the law after-hours via social media.

A statement from the sheriff’s office reveals that deputies also discovered that Sager had been touching the student against the student’s will. According to the release, Sager also claimed to have felt another witness.

Jason Sager Arrest Charges Details

Four counts of battery and two counts of transmitting harmful material to a minor are brought against Sager. Jason is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center under a $14,000 bond.

When a South Sumter High School student reported improper communications and physical contact with Sager last Friday, the investigation got underway.

According to the sheriff’s office the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation and found that Jason Patrick Sager had made improper online contact with the victim after school hours.

Jason Sager was in a detention center, an institution for temporary detention since he was waiting for trial or sentencing.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Sager and lodged him in the Hernando County Detention Center.

Sager was ultimately charged with two counts of transmitting harmful material to a minor and four counts of battery after the sheriff’s office gathered sufficient evidence. Sager was taken into custody in Hernando County on Wednesday night and is currently held on a $14,000 bond.

The charges against Mr. Sager, according to the School District, are despicable. Additionally, they declared that they would fully cooperate with law enforcement while collaborating with the students and school to offer any necessary assistance.

According to law enforcement, a witness they questioned about Sager’s actions was another person he had forcibly touched.

On Wednesday evening, deputies in Hernando County served an arrest warrant on Sager, who was then taken into custody and lodged in jail.
