Cameron Chamberlain was the wife of Fort Cavazos soldier Craig Chamberlain. The soldier’s better half was found lifeless earlier this week in their house. An army official confirmed the tragic news via a social media post on Thursday.
The III Armored Corps wrote it was “deeply saddened” to hear of Cameron Chamberlain’s death and sent its “deepest condolences to Cameron’s family and friends.”
Cameron’s death cause has not been made public. Thus, it is unclear whether her death is related to the disappearance of her spouse.
However, criminal investigators from the Army are looking into the spouse’s death, as is customary when a death occurs inside a military member’s home.
Moreover, Criag’s wife reported him missing on 15 May. Before her demise, she revealed that her husband’s mental health had changed during the last few months.
According to Fox News, in an interview, Cameron said, “He was a carefree, loving, relaxed man when I first met him,” referring to Craig.
Cameron reportedly added, “He had no hate in his heart. He didn’t have a single mean bone in his body. He was a contented man. His leadership and (Fort Cavazos) ruined him.”
Fort Cavazos Soldier Craig Chamberlain Has Been Found Alive
Eleven days after his disappearance and days after his wife’s death, the Fort Cavazos soldier, Craig Chamberlain, was found alive. The official shared the news on Friday.
The 704th Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) member was last seen two weeks ago while stationed at Fort Cavazos, previously known as Fort Hood, near Killeen.
On the basis of the information discovered by investigators, army officials revealed that Mr. Chamberlain willfully absented himself. Apart from that, no other details have been made public.
Furthermore, Craig Chamberlain’s mother, Virginia Chamberlain, expressed her joy by saying, “We found out, son. He is alive and will be ok.”
Virginia said that the volunteers’ team began their search at 10 am on Friday in Conder Park and located Craig during the afternoon near his house in Killeen.
The III Armored Corps expressed their gratitude to all the agencies/institutions involved in the search for Mr. Chamberlain. CID and Killeen Police Department were involved in the search for Craig.
III Armored Corps also acknowledges the Fort Cavazos and Killeen communities’ outstanding efforts and assistance locating Chamberlain.
