Freddie Flintoff Accident: Is He Still In Hospital? Surgery And Health Update
Andrew Freddie Flintoff reportedly underwent surgery and is recovering. He is still at the hospital.
The presenter’s colleague and a friend revealed while filming an episode of a series of Top Gear on 13 December 2022.
It was believed that the 45-year-old former England cricketer was filming an episode of the popular BBC series at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey before the accident.
The former cricketing champion was injured and sent to the hospital while filming at the Top Gear test track with co-star Chris Harris.
In an interview with talkSPORT, A friend of Flintoff’s, Piers Morgan, claimed he had spoken with the family and provided an update on the presenter’s condition and was provided a positive outlook.
He further added that the Top Gear presenter was recovering post-surgery and Freddie would be okay.
“I am told he will be okay, which is great news. But I’m also told it was a pretty nasty crash and that he had surgery and is recovering now, and we’ll have to wait and see,” said Piers Morgan in the same interview.
Flintoff’s pal also said that we keep our fingers crossed that the big man gets through okay. Morgan wished “all the very best” to Flintoff and his family, particularly his wife, Rachel.
Freddie Flintoff Son: He Is Lucky To Be Alive
As reported by Daily Mail, Freddie Flintoff had a badly cut his face and broken ribs. Following a talk after the former cricketer’s accident, his son, Corey, said his Father is lucky to be alive.
Flintoff’s accident happened at the Top Gear test track, and crew medics arrived immediately, according to a BBC source.
He was airlifted to the hospital, where he underwent surgery, and is doing okay now.
All the usual health and safety precautions were in place for filming. Furthermore, BBC launched an investigation into the incident.
Freddie Flintoff’s Previous Accidents
It is not the first time Freddie Flintoff faced such an incident.
In a three-wheeled cycle car, he was seen hurtling head-first down a runway in 2019 while frightenedly shouting, “I can’t stop,” as he was only inches off the ground.
When he realized he was out of the road and going to miss the finish line while racing his co-hosts, spinning out in a cloud of dust.
Flintoff walked out unscathed from the “near-*****” accident at that time.
Afterward, the Top Gear host said he goes to great lengths to ensure he does well in the show’s drag races. He also admitted that he went a bit far at that time.
