Portugal’s hattrick hero Goncalo Ramos Religion made several headlines after his incredible performance in the last match fans have raised their expectations for today’s match against Morocco.

On December 6, Portugal manager Fernando Santos started Ramos ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in the team’s round of 16 games against Switzerland, where Ramos scored a hattrick assist in Portugal’s 6–1 victory.

Following his hat trick scoring, he became the first player to score a World Cup knockout stage hat trick since Tomáš Skuhravý in 1990.

Gonçalo Matias Ramos was born on June 20, 2001, in Olho, Portugal, to parents Nee Matias and Manuel Sendara Ramos.

His Father is a former Portugal youth international who played for Farense and other Portuguese clubs.

According to Guardian, Portugal’s hattrick hero was homesick after moving to Benfica, but his coach says he has learned to overcome all obstacles.

According to sources, Ramos’s childhood was a football-centric environment as his Father played football professionally. 

Indefinitely, Ramos’s childhood memories are filled with experiences like watching football and participating in his Father’s soccer practice.

Goncalo Ramos Ethnicity And Origin

Per his Wikipedia details, Ramos’ Father, Manuel Ramos, is originally from Amareleja, in Alentejo Region.

Sources claim Young Ramos was born and brought up in a city in the Algarve region of southern Portugal, popularly known as Olhão. 

Therefore, his ethnicity is Amareleja, and his nationality is Portuguese.

At the age of 12, after being recruited by Pedro Lourenço, the forward was spotted by Benfica’s Faro talent center in the Algarve, where his Father had played professionally for Farense and was coached by Miguel Fernandes.

Ramos is known for his versatility, capable of playing in several offensive positions, such as a striker or second striker.

Olhão, Algarve-born Ramos, started his football career in the youth ranks of local side Olhanense in 2009 before joining Loulé in 2011.

Earlier, Ramos moved from his childhood home in the Algarve to Lisbon as a teenager to join Benfica’s academy but found it difficult to adjust to life without his parents.

Ramos joined Benfica B in 2019 after graduating from the club’s youth academy. He scored seven goals in his first three games for Benfica B and had a double within eight minutes of his first-team debut.
