The Utah Jazz drafted Grayson with the 21st overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft.

The NBA star is open about his faith and thanks God for the success he has had.

“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see,” He once quoted Hebrews 11:1 verse from the Bible on his Twitter.

Citing Thessalonians on another occasion, he wrote, “Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

Meet Grayson Allen Brother: Tonan Ferrell

Grayson Allen has one sibling; an adopted brother named Tonan Ferrell.

Grayson was once an only child in his family; however, he is not alone anymore. When he was a young boy, his parents took in his school friend whom his mother had given up.

Tonan Ferrell was Allen’s best friend growing up. He was the closest thing he had to a brother.

Tonan was eight when his mother gave him and his elder brother up for adoption. The two boys were moved into the custody of their 18-year-old sister.

When William and Sherry Allen learned of Tonan’s hardship and his strong friendship with their son in school, they decided to act.

SI.com stated, “But he’d come back again, and then again. And then there were afternoons and nights when he never left, which turned into stays that lasted months and years.”

The duo of Grayson and Tonan continue to share a strong bond. Tonan’s Instagram profile is full of pictures of him attending Duke games with their parents.

Grayson Allen Family Background Explored

Grayson James Allen was born in Jacksonville, Florida, United States, to his parents, Sherry Allen and William Allen.

Per LinkedIn, his mom Sherry has worked in human resources for around 20 years.

She began her career in 2000, working eight years as a human resource manager for Flagler Development.

After working for North Florida Management Services, Sherry accepted her current job as the Director of Human Resources at Children’s Educational Services in 2016.

On the other hand, his dad William is a government contractor.

Grayson is very close to his family, who are proud and supportive of his career.

Despite neither of his parents working in basketball, Allen developed an interest in the game at a young age.

He was a consensus top-40 recruit in his high school’s 2014 class and led Providence School to a 90-10 record, one state title, and two state semifinal appearances, per his Duke bio.

Grayson was born on October 8, 1995, making him 27 years old. His birth sign is Libra.

The NBA player is married to soccer player Morgan Reid (m. July 23, 2022). The two met while both were students at Duke.
