In early 2020, Chau became pregnant with her first child, whom she shares with an unknown partner.
While people were worried about having a child in the middle of a global pandemic, Chau had an enjoyable pregnancy and delivered her daughter in November 2020.
The Homecoming Actress claimed that assuming new roles as a new mother was challenging. “I also had an amazing pregnancy – the lockdown was excellent for me, and I was just delighted and ready to be a mother,” Hong Chau shared in an interview with Vogue.

In 1979, her family fled their nation by boat, and the star’s mother was six months pregnant with her. During the escape, her dad got shot and bled nearly to death.
Hong Chau was born in a refugee camp in Thailand on 25 June of the same year.
A local Vietnamese family sponsored her family through the help of a Vietnamese Catholic church in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States.
The artist learned English in school. Vietnamese is her native tongue. Her family used subsidized lunch programs and resided in government housing.
Ms. Chau received Pell Grants and attended Boston University. Although her family wanted her to study something practical, she pursued her degree in film studies.
