Thus, Silver is doing healthy. Moreover, there is no record of the 10-year-old having any terminal medical condition. Considering Silver’s position in the league, minor health or other issues are unlikely to go unnoticed.

In the past, false rumors circulated online claiming that Adam Silver had pancreatic cancer. However, it is not true. In contrast, Silver is a board member of the Lustagarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research Center.

Born on 25 April 1962, NBA commissioner Adam Silver is a native of Rye, New York. The NBA commissioner grew up in a suburb of New York City. After graduating from Rye High School in 1980, he went to Duke University and majored in political science.

He served as a legislative assistant for Les AuCoin, a U.S. House of Representatives member, for a year after receiving his college degree in 1984.

Later, the prominent sports executive enrolled at the University of Chicago Law School. The New York native earned his J.D. from the same institution in 1988.

Adam served as a law clerk for Judge Kimba Wood following graduation from law school. After that, he became an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

Adam Silver joined the NBA in 1992. Before he was named the new commissioner in 2014, Silver served as NBA’s deputy commissioner and chief operating officer.

In October 2012, David Stern, the former NBA Commissioner, endorsed the New York-born lawyer/sports executive to be the next NBA Commissioner. Stern stepped down from his position on 1 February 2014, and Silver became the league’s new commissioner.

Silver received the Sports Illustrated Executive of the Year award in 2014. He sits on Duke University’s Board of Trustees and has won the University of Chicago Law School’s 2016 Distinguished Alumnus Award.
