When explaining why Chapman wasn’t on the roster, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman was characteristically direct.

Their career of Chapman with the Yankees is probably over as a result. He began allowing more difficult contact in 2021, especially in the second half of the season, and this year the counting numbers caught up with him.
