Malveaux asserted that several family members identify as European, biracial, or black and that she considers herself black.

They have a kid together. The offspring of Malveaux and Jean-Pierre is known as Soleil Malveaux. The pair had adopted Jean-Pierre.

Daughter of Haitian parents, Jean-Pierre was born in Fort-de-France, Martinique, France. She moved with her family to the Queens Village neighborhood when she was five.

She has two younger brothers. Jean’s Father was a taxi driver who had studied to be an engineer, while her mother was a home health aide in her Pentecostal church.
